PROJECT MANAGER – HYDRO POWER- PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Our client is seeking a Project Manager with at least 10 years- experience of Hydro Power Projects to oversee the design, tendering, procurement, construction and project management of a new Greenfields 7.5 MW Hydro Power Construction Project in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.
Field surveys and concept design completed and submitted to financier. Financier has approved funding subject to detailed design. Detailed design not yet started, possible start next month.
Client is a gold miner. Client has agreed in principle to purchase the 7.5 MW pursuant to a PPA. Post mine closure, client wants electricity to be supplied continually to the community, thereby achieving a sustainable outcome after it exits the mining area.
PM will oversee a team of engineers and community affairs, also work closely with the client’s executive management team particularly the miner’s Australian CEO.
PM will oversee the completion of the detailed design, prepare financial proposals & make representations to our financier to achieve successful financial closure, secure regulatory approvals, conclude PPA, prepare international tendering for EPC contract for hydro and transmission, prepare and sign EPC contracts, project management on behalf of the client , oversee project closure and undertake all other tasks and responsibilities to bring the 7.5 MW to a successful conclusion.
Project duration 18-24 months and the successful candidate will have the option of becoming General Manager/ Construction or continue as PM for new Greenfield projects.
