OrganisatieInstallations will include HVAC systems (both air-cooled DX VRV and chilled water systems), water and waste water packaged treatment plans, diesel fuel storage, hydraulic services, fire services, industrial gas services, BMS, etc.. As part of the Construction team, you will also work closely with PFC Contractor and, where appropriate, provide early identification of mechanical installation issues so as to minimize rework costs and schedule impacts.Job DescriptionKey accountabilities include:
• Work closely with Contractor to on day-to-day Mech/Elec activities;
• Coordination with Technical Manager, Principal Design Consultant through project execution (during construction through Hanover);
• Attend scheduled and ad-hoc site meetings on behalf of the PMT;
• Monitor mechanical installations of the Contractor and his subcontractors to ensure compliance with construction documentation;
• Monitor activities of the Contractor and his subcontractors to ensure Company safety expectation are adhered to (PPE, LPS, work permits, etc.);
• Ensure Code, Standards, Health, Safety and Environmental compliance;
• Conducts periodic inspection of work products and mechanical materials;
• Assist the Contract Administrator in assessment of monthly progress and variation order requests;
• Facilitate timely payments of monthly invoices, as required;
• Assist the Technical Team in the review of material or shop drawing submittals, as required;
• Assist the Construction Manager and Technical Team in the response to RFI's and other contractor inquiries, as required;
• Liaise with Facilities Management personnel to finalize spare parts requirements;
• Participate in mechanical completion, static and dynamic commissioning activities for mechanical installations and equipment during System Completion process;
• Work with System Completion team to finalize all as-built documentation, building systems and equipment records, O&M manuals, etc.Job RequirementsSkills and Knowledge required includes:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams in the execution of a large construction contract;
• Strong knowledge of the mechanical trades;
• Ability to work effectively with Contractor and as a team player;
• Strong command of the English language;
• Ability to live and work effectively in similar environment as PNG;
• Cross-cultural understanding experience with multi-national corporations desirable;
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or software relevant to project management;Salary and BenefitsBased in Port Moresby this is a full time residential assignment. Generous uplifts and allowances are in place for the successful candidate.
