In-Country Manager - Papua New Guinea

Brief Posting Description Wood Group PSN has recently secured a major new project in Papua New Guinea providing both Brownfield Engineering and Maintenance support to upstream gas facilities and a major LNG facility. WGPSN require an In-Country Manager to lead a multi-functional team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of all in-country deliverables on a 4/4 rotation.Detailed Description Reporting to the Contract Manager you will be accountable for the safety of all in-country WGPSN employees through the development of a strong safety culture and the implementation of the Contract Safety Plan. Key to success will be the ability to develop strong relationships with local client representatives and suppliers ensuring the WGPSN core values are promoted across the project at all times. Key Responsibilities include:• The safe and efficient execution of in-Country work scopes with a focus on productivity, capital efficiency and recovery in alignment with the contract.• Attracting, developing and retaining local resources for the contract with a focus on nationalisation at the earliest opportunity.• Contributing to the retention and extension of project work scopes and the successful delivery of established project KPI's in line with the clients expectations.• Provision of management review and control over multiple units of work (construction and/or operations and maintenance, and/or facilities management) including development of projects and services, structures or processes as part of a major term contract.• Management of a multi-cultural workforce of up to 400 site operations, maintenance and construction professionals. Job Requirements You will be required to demonstrate a strong track record of EPC delivery while building and promoting strong team working principles. You will require exceptional leadership skills and will require the ability to build strong relationships, putting the needs of your client at the forefront and ensuring that safety and quality are never compromised. Our expectation is that you will have a strong technical background in Oil & Gas upstream facilities and preferably LNG plant operations. All applicants must have extensive regional experience and preferably have language skills that relate to our imcumbent work force. Fore example, Philippino, Tok Pisin.
