Location.
All inspection and construction management services will take place at the construction site in Port Moresby, PNG. The construction program includes the following components: perimeter security fence; four (4)-story New Office Annex (NOX) attached to a re-purposed New Office Building (NOB); Main Campus Access Pavilion (MCAP), Service Guard Residence (MSGR), Service Entry/Utility Building (SVC); enlarged Support Annex (SPX) and a new Recreation Facility.
Scope of Services.
The electrical engineer shall provide construction management and engineering services including electrical, lighting, power generation and distribution, grounding and lightening protection, data and telecommunications, and technical security systems (TSS). The electrical engineer will inspect the ongoing construction, review plans, recommend approval of shop drawings and submittals, maintain a daily log of construction activities, assist the client with developing cost estimates for change orders, and other construction management duties including the commissioning of electrical systems related to the project. The electrical engineer will help to maintain a quality assurance program and inspect all construction activities within the electrical engineering field.
Minimum Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer(s) • Registered and licensed in PNG as an electrical engineer. • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an accredited institution. • Five (5) years of experience in electrical systems and/or construction with specific experience with transformers, generators, technical security systems, cameras, and fire alarm systems. • Level IV English proficiency as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable. • Demonstrated high standard of detailed knowledge of the construction industry, different building materials and their appropriate uses under varying circumstances and conditions. • Proven knowledge of local building codes and construction abilities. • The ability to construction codes, safety and security regulations.
