Our focus is in the Energy and Construction sectors and this is defined by our presence in Oil & Gas, Mining Renewable Energy and Infrastructure projects around the world. Our client is currently seeking a General Manager to provide in-country management and oversight to overall business (planning, leading and overseeing all operations in the country). The General Manager will be based in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and oversee projects dealing with infrastructure and logistics operations. This is a permanent position with accommodation and transport provided as well as return air tickets for holidays. Duties : Maintain and develop new key client contacts, with focus on high value, near term opportunities. Supervise Department Managers in performing business operations in assigned area. Assist Department Managers in human resource, financial and programmatic functions to grow business in assigned areas. Alignment of Company budgets with goals; establish measureable and reportable KPI’s. Interact with sales, customer and operations teams to analyze business excellence and risks. Train and guide Department Managers and staffs to meet business goals. Conduct area meetings and make area visits to ensure branch success. Develop business strategies to achieve revenue target. Coordinate with Managers to develop action plans to address performance gaps. Support Managers in business management and optimization activities. Develop programs that recognize and reward employee performance and customer satisfaction. Organize product initiatives and promotional activities to achieve revenue target. Develop positive customer relationship and business contacts in the assigned area. Ensure that Department Managers and staffs follow company policies and procedures. Ensure operational integrity in all area operations. Manage business risks, activities and expenses to meet branch objectives. Perform market research to identify business opportunities in the Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions. Bear responsibility for under and/or improper performance of his /her job duties and non-compliance with PNG law. Candidate Qualities Must have at least 10 years of experience working in a corporate/business focused environment. Experience in working on remote infrastructure and logistics projects highly appreciated. Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business. Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads. Closing Skills. Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning. Selling to Customer Needs. Territory Management. Market Knowledge. Presentation Skills. Meeting Sales Goals. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Qualifications : A Business Degree or Certificate.
