Public and Government Affairs Field Analyst – Rotational Contract – Papua New GuineaOur client an integrated oil and gas major with an established Public and Government Affairs (P&GA) team are looking to hire a Field Operations Analyst to join them in Papua New Guinea. This will be a rotational role based at the northern asset with trips to operational areas.Critical strategic priorities for the P&GA Field Operations Analyst:Analysis, early warning advice / reporting and risk management.Real-time / near real-time assessments to inform decision-making.Reporting processes and data management.Training and mentorship of expatriate and PNG national staff on analytical discipline.Key Accountabilities:Conduct extensive field level due diligence of P&GA activities.Develop joint analytical products in collaboration with the broader cross-functional.Support indications and warning efforts that proactively identify risks and related mitigation opportunities.Develop integrated analyses that assess existing and emerging political, economic and social trends in the Upstream areas of operation.Manage the Field-level P&GA analytical, reporting and data entry team and processes.Support external engagements with in-field stakeholders as appropriate.Provide advisory and SME support to development of Community Development Support (CDS) projects and programs.Conduct all business activities in compliance with company Operations and Controls Integrity Systems.Skills & Experience Required:Minimum BA qualification in Social Sciences such as Anthropology, Political Economy, Political Science, Development Economics or related field; advanced degree preferredMinimum 7 years community affairs, law enforcement, military, NGO, International Organization (IO – ex. United Nations) analytical experience in complex / fragile state contexts.Strong analytical, communications (verbal / written) and presentation skills.Strong understanding of data analytics methodologies and tools (ex. Isometrix).High level of interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural work environment.Knowledge of PNG government systems and processes (or aptitude to quickly learn them).Knowledge about the complex nature of land ownership in PNG or similar contexts.In country experience in PNG preferred. Ability to work in remote work camp environment on rotation.Key Metrics:Quality, quantity and timeliness of analytical productsData base performance / utility to business priorities.
