Wood is currently recruiting for 2x Logistics Coordinator - Load Master with extensive experience to join our team in Lae Papua New Guinea on a Fly in Fly Out rotational schedule (28 days on 28 days off) Reporting directly to the Logistics Lead this position will be responsible for loading and yard activities Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage Responsibilities - Planning and coordinating freight and equipment packing within 3rd party warehouse to ensure construction deliverables are maintained
- Managing loading activities to ensure freight and equipment are prepared and loaded in a way that ensures no damage in transit
- Liaising and negotiating with transport coordinators for load allocation and configuration requirements
- Building an effective working relationship with the freight forwarding team
- Carrying out process and systems improvements to maintain zero damage to materials and equipment during delivery
- Coordinate loading activities with Freight Services Company to improve productivity and ensure assigned priorities are maintained
- Provide technical advice for load preparation packing and bracing to safeguard materials and minimise damages
- Inspect and approve all loads prior to departure
- Trouble shooting where required
- Manage daily operations with particular focus on HSE HR and Emergency Response Management to create a positive and safe working environment
Skills Qualifications
- Logistics Coordinator experience ideally in the construction industry
- Experience with loading and securing equipment and machinery to heavy vehicle trailers
- Experience with packing and loading shipping containers
- Computer literacy and is able to use freight portals & excel
- Sound communication skills - English
- Proven organisation skills
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills both written and oral
