Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Coordinator to be based in LNG Plant site Port Moresby Papua New Guinea on a Fly in Fly Out rotational schedule (28 days on 28 days off) Reporting to the In-Country Manager this role is responsible for the planning and safe execution of all on-site construction activities and will lead construction work crews to safely deliver discipline activities in compliance with client and Wood work instructions using current best practice techniques in multicultural environment Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate the construction interface between site and head office
- Accountable for site planning and resource management including subcontractors
- Site IR management - ability to handle minor IR issues and grievances
- Participate and own the work breakdown structure for each project
- Set and maintain the quality of drawings and timely certification sign off and close out of work packs
- Actively input to Construction estimate CTR s
- Actively promote excellence in Health & Safety by setting clear expectations for site
- Instructing work crew on job scope and monitoring progress
- Creating necessary permits and risk assessment for work activities
- Setting of expectations for individuals and work teams communicate organization roles & responsibilities and provide ongoing coaching and support
- Provide consistent visible leadership to ensure string individual and team motivation and productivity
- Ensure project and operations risks are clearly identified and efficiently managed by project teams
Skills Qualifications
- 15 years minimum construction experience in Oil & Gas Industry
- 10 years minimum construction supervision or coordination role overseeing the construction of major projects
- Demonstrated administrative and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively serve as an interface between the construction contractor the client operations group and the client Projects Engineering representative
- Experience in implementing the construction of modifications in and operating Oil & Gas facility
- Demonstrated knowledge of international construction codes and standards
- Demonstrated ability to develop construction implementation schedules and provide ongoing status reports to client engineers and management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and coordinate multiple crews in various field locations
- International assignment project experience in similar roles will be highly regarded
