Senior Fire Officer - Contract - PNG (28/28)Our client a globally established services company is looking to engage a Senior Fire Officer for a rotational contract in PNG.The Senior Fire Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the emergency services facilities including staffing and information resources to achieve the prevention, preparedness and response and recovery outcomes from emergencies as required by the company.Responsibilities: Coordinate and oversee the structural and aviation rescue and firefighting services until attended fires are extinguished, including fuel farm fires.Respond and coordinate to all emergency cases, fire alarms and bush-fire incidents.Coordinate and oversee assistance to units and organisations in the containment and clearance of oil and fuel spills.Conduct daily inspection and maintenance activities of the fire fighting vehicles and equipment and co-ordinate with onsite mechanics for repair and scheduled maintenance in accordance with the project maintenance schedule.Oversee operator and technical maintenance services for all portable firefighting equipment.Lead the Station Management Team and implement initiatives to the strategic management of the Project.Demonstrate the ability to interpret and implement the organisational strategic plan, direction and values.Command, control and coordinate fire ground and emergency operations when required.Understand current strategies for all types of fire such as wild-land, commercial, residential, airport, flammable and combustible liquids, vehicle.Acquire and retain a thorough knowledge of the Base, including streets, buildings, water supply, unusual hazards and related items.Manage and contribute to the staffing and information resources of the project to ensure that appropriate operational standards are achieved and when/where possible, continuously improved.Continuously develop and maintain professional working relationships with all staff and stakeholders to ensure optimum service delivery.Provide effective leadership, management administration, training and support for employees for fire related incidents and community safety programs.Experience:A minimum two years as a fire fighter working in a station/ crew commander within a fire and emergency service.Demonstrated training and assessment skills.Demonstrated leadership and management experience in fire services, emergency services or emergency situations.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage people and resources effectively with the ability to influence decision makers during fire related incidents.Demonstrated experience managing operational activities a local district level.Demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills with employees, other colleagues and the wider community.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to foster positive relationships and influence outcomes.Demonstrate a broad experience and knowledge of the fire and emergency services industry including an understanding and implementation of prevention programs and their outcomes.Values Efficient – Look for solutions rather than problems • Reliable – Always keep your promises • Competent – Constantly try to retain and improve your skills • Helpful – Want to make people safer in their everyday lives • Accessible – Always available and ready to help • Fast – Respond quickly with dedication whenever people need our help Key Requirements – Academic and Trades Qualifications Essential • PUA 30613 Certificate III in Fire Fighting Public Safety & Emergency Operations • PUA 40313 Certificate IV in Public Safety Fire Fighting Supervision • Medium Rigid Driver’s License or equivalent • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment • Current Apply First Aid Certificate (HLTFA 301B or HLTFA301C or HLTFA311A or equivalent unit of competence from one of the approved registered training providers listed at Training Australia) • A National Criminal History Record Check will be carried out with the consent of the applicantWe have detailed information on this position as well as a good indication of the financial remuneration, get in touch with us at the offices for more information, follow the link and apply to register your interest.Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
