Wood is currently recruiting for 2x Freight Controller with extensive experience to join our team in Lae Papua New Guinea on a Fly in Fly Out rotational schedule (28 days on 28 days off) Reporting directly to the Materials & Logistics Coordinator this position will be responsible to coordinate movement of materials from Lae to hides and Moro Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage Responsibilities - Liaise with Logistics Coordinator (Load Master) – Lae yard for movement activities and priorities
- Compliance with Wood Supply Chain procedures
- Liaising and negotiating with transport coordinators for load allocation and configuration requirements
- Building an effective working relationship with the freight forwarding team
- Timely issuing and management of required materials to job sites
- Arranging in country material movement from PNG suppliers where required
- Maintain the Freight Planning Tool
Skills Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in material logistics coordination
- Sound understanding of legislative requirements
- Ability to relate to a multi-cultural workforce
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills both written and oral
